The report analyses the value of personal information from different perspectives and outlines the consequences of privacy failures. It explains how to put a value on personal information and how to assess the benefits of protecting privacy. In doing this it does not stop at minimalist data protection compliance measures. It recognises that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach and provides important practical tools in its appendices to help organisations construct customised business cases for investing in privacy protection.

US teens prefer closed updates to open tweets

Interesting new study from Pew on social media use by US teenagers. Tweeting is down to 8%, with a suggestion that its public nature discourages use over social networking sites.
